About us

Kubla srl is a company specialized in digital innovation and software development, founded in June 2024 in Milan by Alessandro Parodi, Francesca Memini, Chiara Di Lucente, and Rossella Failla. The founding partners combine strong scientific, social, and technological backgrounds with experience gained as a team even before the company’s foundation: we are a young organization with a solid track record, and a true interdisciplinary chimera. Kubla’s technological know-how makes us an ideal partner for technological innovation, digital health, and online communication in the fields of science and healthcare. We are based in Milan, Rome, Pescara, and Palermo, and our network of professionals allows us to assemble tailored, local teams. Yet our ambition is European: we rely on a network of contacts in academia and research, which enables us to support the development of partnerships for transnational projects.

Why Kubla?

At Kubla, our identity transcends traditional coding; it embodies an interdisciplinary fusion of diverse educational backgrounds and creative visions. Our name draws inspiration from Kubla Khan and his legendary city of Xanadu, as reimagined through the poetic lens of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and the narrative brilliance of Jorge Luis Borges. In Coleridge's poem "Kubla Khan," the emperor envisions a majestic palace inspired by a dream, leading to the creation of Xanadu. Centuries later, Borges reflects on this creative lineage, noting that "an emperor of the Mongols in the thirteenth century dreams a palace and builds it according to his dream; in the eighteenth century, an English poet who could not have known that the structure was born of a dream, dreams a poem about the palace." Borges suggests that this series of dreams and creations is unending: "If the pattern holds, someone, in a remote future, will dream this same dream, and will not know that two men have already dreamed it." This concept resonates deeply with Kubla's philosophy—a creativity that transforms across forms yet retains its ambition, perpetuating a pattern that brings universal ideas into the tangible realms of art, language, and technology. In this light, we ponder: could the modern incarnation of Xanadu be a software platform? At Kubla, we believe so, as we strive to materialize visionary concepts into digital realities.
